It also looks like it uses the rich coloration common in 80’s/90’s anime rather than the more pastel look that’s popular today. I think I’ll be checking this one out.

The art style is deliberately a bit retro. The character designer also did the character designs for Trigun, Jubei-chan, and the various Slayers titles.

I thought that using that particular astronomical picture that way was a nice touch.
